1. Soak the grill in the vinegar solution. Get a garbage bag or container large enough to fit on the grill and pour a mixture of 1 cup vinegar and 2 cups baking soda into it. Next, soak the grill in a garbage bag or container overnight. If you're using a garbage bag, secure the bag with a rubber band; if you're using a container, close the lid.
2. Take the grill out and rinse it. Loosen the rubber band or remove the lid and remove the grill from the solution. Rinse the grill with a hose connected to the faucet. Most food scraps that stick to the grill can be washed away.
3. If necessary, brush off any remaining dirt. If cleaning a ceramic grill, use a nylon brush at a gentle angle. If cleaning cast iron or stainless steel grills, use a stainless steel wire brush to gently brush up and down.
4. Rinse the grill and dry. Rinse the grill one last time with the hose. Next, dry the surface of the rack with a microfiber towel. Finally, put the grill back into place.
Note: To make cleaning your grill easier, you can marinate and drizzle your food with a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and a sauce that contains soy sauce.
